Lovely stay, the cabin was in beautiful surroundings and easy to to get to with the helpful instructions sent by the host. Super friendly cat Chester was very friendly and polite. The views were stunning to sit outside and have breakfast and an evening drink with. Highly recommend!

Wonderful location, you can walk out from the door straight into hills & dales…or a short (25 – 30 mins, mostly along river bank) walk into the beating heart of Matlock. Carriage is warm, cosy & comfortable & the views from the little garden/patio are superb, watching the sunset on the hills ahead.
Thistledown Cottage – March 2025
We loved our stay there, so calm and beautiful. The hosts are super friendly and helpful, left us a pitcher of milk in the fridge for teas and lovely Nespresso coffee pods – highly recommend the stay there. The cottage was so charming and sweet, with a gorgeous little kitchen. Our dog made a mess, but the hosts just took it in their stride…
Thistledown Cottage – March 2025
Had a fabulous, peaceful stay here. It’s so close to lovely walks, pubs, and there’s loads for the dogs to do. We loved it and it was perfect for us to meet up with our close friends. Thank you!

We had the most relaxing stay in the Forge. The location was prefect for long walks and fish and chips at Matlock. The forge was lovely with everything you could need. Wendy was so helpful sending lots of recommendations and instructions for check in ☺

Really loved our stay here! Great base for exploring the Peak District. Wendy’s place was just as described and was set in a lovely location. We had a really fun stay and brought our dog last-minute too, who had an amazing time too. Will definitely be coming back when we next come to the Peak District again!
The Hayloft – Feb 2025
Wendy and John’s place is ideal for a quiet getaway (if you don’t mind the odd soft baa from a distant sheep). A short walk to Matlock provides all the necessary local amenities, but the Hayloft itself has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Also a lovely touch that everything was available for a cuppa after our drive, with tea/coffee bits catered for. Would definitely come back and stay again
